Israeli Hydrogen Car Being DevelopedIsracar, an Israeli company is said to be developing a hydrogen car with an internal combustion engine. The largest problem to be solved is building a storage tank that is safe, light, and able to contain enough fuel to provide a range of at least 300 miles. It isn’t hard to imagine that Israel would be highly motivated to develop a source of energy to replace oil and there is another Israeli company called C.En, which has exceeded this goal. They have developed a 110-pound tank that will power a car for a projected 375 miles.Russian and German researchers, have recently completed testing the new tank. C.En has applied for five patents based on their tests. Further tests are being carried out at the German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing.They say that if the tanks meet expectations, they will provide an alternative energy source to Arab oil for the world’s motor vehicles. |
